Brooke… Who?
I’m a 25-year-old traveler from central Illinois on an extended journey to see the world. On my first trip overseas to Italy in 2000, I made a promise to myself to spend a large part of my life experiencing cultures other than my own. Nearly eight years later and I am doing just that.
If you’ve been following along with the site, you will probably know that my plans over the past couple years have changed quite a bit. This is not a bad thing, and I actually quite enjoy the opportunities that have come about because of the flexibility.
So, here I am, blogging at Brooke vs. the World about my adventures (and life, love, and then some) on a very interesting around-the-world trip. My trip is going to be done in phases, either until I a) run out of money, b) finish the journey, or c) figure out what I want to do with my life. Join along as I wander from country to country, experiencing the world as I have been dreaming about for so long. It should be quite the ride!

Hey! This around the world trip you are doing is crazy!!! I’ve always wanted to do it myself and you’re giving me the inspiration to start seriously considering it. I’ve already driven cross country in the US, and have backpacked Western Europe for a month, but this around the world thing…I’ve always wanted to do that. It is amazing you are actually doing it when most of us are just still talk about it!

I like the idea of phases… plenty of room for modification and unexpected opportunities. And if you run out of loot, just head home, make some more money, and then take off once again.

Hey, just reading about your time in Kiev!!! Sounds like fun. I’ve been thinking about teaching abroad as a way to sort of live locally and yet make some cash to live on. Do you have Facebook? If so, look me up and add me!
